I will provide two slices of pizza from Jet’s and Hawaiian Punch for each person.  Students are welcome to  supplement as desired.

WGVU Celebration

A huge thank you to WGVU and Kailen for another opportunity to celebrate in our classroom!  I am incredibly blessed to spend my days at Georgetown with a very special group of 4th grade students! 🙂

WGVU sent the following information to help us prepare for our celebration at 11:45 on Thursday, January 15, 2015.  Parents, please note the date change and plan your child’s lunch accordingly as we will be having pizza on Thursday, not Wednesday.

We’ll have the pizza, soft drinks, paper plates, cups and napkins—you don’t need to provide anything.  We will videotape a group shot of the entire class waving to the camera saying, “Thanks WGVU!”  Kailen will present Mr. Kooiker with the Cool Teacher award…the taped segments will be put together…and air on WGVU around the children’s programs.

Many of you were able to join us as we read stories, poems, and essays that covered the walls of our school.

By the way, writers, your stories were fabulous!

Looking ahead…

calendar

Wow!  We have a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks! 🙂

Our “outstanding” celebration will take place this Thursday, December 19.  We gathered ideas for how this celebration would look and decided to include electronics, board games and comfy-cozy clothing.  So, please talk with your child about appropriate electronics to bring and games to play.  We’re looking forward to a fun day!

Our Christmas party is scheduled for Friday, December 20.  We will join the other 4th grade classes in the multipurpose room from 2:30-3:30.  A number of activities are being planned.  Parents, you are welcome to join us! 🙂

Finally, we are preparing for 4th grade swimming lessons at the Hudsonville High School pool.  A letter with some information went home today.  Please complete the bottom portion and return by Thursday, December 19.  More information will be coming soon!

If you have any questions about the upcoming events, please feel free to contact me.
