GAGA PIT RESERVED FOR…

Posted by  on Wednesday, January 28th 2015

Kooiker Gaga winners

the fourth graders of Mr. Kooiker’s class!  Because they are the top earning class, they will be the first class to use the GAGA PIT  this spring.

We raised $1,200.  We have an additional $400 from the PTC (parent WALKATHON donations).  Our PE teachers, Mrs. Nienhuis and Mrs. VanKoevering, will be working with Mr. Rob to order the materials and build of the GAGA PIT.  This will happen when the weather warms up in early May.

THANK YOU for your amazing support for our school and the PE PROGRAM!

Georgetown GAGA Pit

We would like to ask for your support with a Physical Education WISH.  Our playground has space to accommodate a GAGA BALL PIT—and we’d love to have a pit added to our green space.

The game of GAGA is high paced, high energy and high fun.  It combines the skills of dodging, running, jumping and eye/hand/body coordination.  The addition of a GAGA PIT on our playground would benefit:

  • PE:  Support our instructional skills.

  • Recess: Provide another activity for children on the 2-5 playground.

  • Community:  Available for after hours use for family, friends and community members.

Our PTC has donated partial funding from the Fall WALK•A•THON earnings.  We believe we can cover the total cost through a special three week fundraiser.

GOAL:  Donate $1.00 per child.

INCENTIVE:  Class that raises the most $$ will be first to use the GAGA PIT once it is assembled.

FUNDRAISER DATES:  January 12-23.  A weekly update on the winners will be posted.

Please send your GAGA DOLLARS to school so we can have a Georgetown Gaga Pit!

2014 Rock the WALK-A-THON Wrap-up

DSC03582The 2014 Rock the WALK-A-THON was a HUGE success!  We had a lot of fun and raised over $19,000 for our school.  Thank you SO much families and friends of Georgetown!

The money collected will make the student/family/teacher events for 2014-15 possible this year, as well as impacting the technology opportunities in our building.  So, that means that everyone at Georgetown wins!

Specific winners from our classroom include the following:
