Link Up

imgres-2The fourth grade students at Georgetown have been preparing for an amazing concert they will be attending on Wednesday, May 11.  This interactive concert, known as Link Up, will take place at the Frauenthal Theater in Muskegon.  More information about Link Up is available on Mrs. Bretz’s blog.

We will be leaving school at 9:30 that morning and returning at approximately 1:00.

Please send your child with a cold lunch that day since we will be returning after normal lunch hours. We are planning to eat on the school playground if the weather is nice.

If you would like to attend this concert as a chaperone, please let me know. We have room for two adults to come with us. Other adults can attend the concert, but unfortunately will need to drive to Muskegon, pay for their ticket, and sit separately from us.

We are really looking forward to this amazing opportunity! 🙂

Link Up Concert Information

The fourth grade students at Georgetown have been preparing since January for an amazing concert they will be attending on Wednesday, April 15.

imgres-2The concert is called LINK UP and is sponsored and created by Carnegie Hall in New York City.   Carnegie Hall has partnered with the West Michigan Symphony in Muskegon to bring this exciting interactive concert to fourth graders around west Michigan.  The West Michigan Symphony is one of only a select number of orchestras across the United States chosen to work with Carnegie Hall, so we are so fortunate to be able to be a part of this!

What makes LINK UP so unique is how interactive it is.  Students will be stomping, clapping, singing and playing their recorders right along with the West Michigan Symphony!   Our theme this year is “The Orchestra Moves”!

We will be leaving school at 9:30 that morning and returning by 1:00.

I am planning to provide two slices of pizza and Hawaiian Punch for the students in our classroom when we return to the school.  They are welcome to supplement with other food as desired.

If you would like to attend this concert with your child, please let your child’s classroom teacher know.  We have a very limited number of chaperone spots, but we would love to have you come experience this!  You won’t want to miss it!

LINK UP Concert

recorder-1sguylx-300x136On Wednesday, May 7, all Hudsonville fourth graders will attend a West Michigan Symphony concert at the Frauenthal Theatre in Muskegon.  The concert starts at 11:00 a.m. and will last 50-55 minutes.  We will eat a late lunch (at 1:00ish) when we return to school.

This special event will be an interactive concert with the students listening, singing, and playing recorders along with the West Michigan Symphony.  The students have been preparing for this concert. The symphony will perform three separate Link-UP concerts that day for over 4,300 children from all over West Michigan.  This will be an enjoyable and educational outing for your child.

We are allowed to have 4 parent chaperones join us for the bus ride and concert.  If you are interested, please let me know.  There will be a drawing if more than 4 parents express interest.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

LINK UP

A quick update on our trip to the Frauenthal Theater tomorrow, May 7.  The West Michigan Symphony awaits…and I think we are ready! 🙂  It promises to be a fun adventure.

Since we will be returning to Georgetown after the last hot lunch is served, please plan to pack a lunch to be eaten after we return to the school.  We will enjoy lunch and recess outside on our playground.

LINK UP

Fourth Graders have been preparing since January for an amazing concert they will be attending on Tuesday, May 7.

The concert is called LINK UP and is sponsored and created by Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Our theme this year is “The Orchestra Rocks” and we will be focusing on exciting ways the symphony keeps rhythm and “rocks”!

We will be leaving school at 9:30 that morning and returning by 1:15.
Your child’s teacher will be arranging alternate lunch plans since the students will not be at school for their normal lunchtime.

If you would like to attend this concert with your child, please let your child’s classroom teacher know.  We have a very limited number of chaperone spots, but we would love to have you come experience this!  You won’t want to miss it!
