“Outstanding” Valentine’s Party

Due to the snow day on Friday and Winter Break on Monday and Tuesday…we pivoted to Party Plan B for our “Outstanding” Valentine’s Day party – a combination of our Outstanding celebration and Valentine’s Day party.

We shared Valentines with classmates and enjoyed donuts from Sprinkles on Wednesday.

We played Snowball in the gym on Thursday and watched UP on Friday afternoon. Pjs, stuffed animals and popcorn from Wesco were also a part of our celebration.

Our Valentine’s party turned into a week of fun! 🙂

PE CARES Celebration!

Thanks to the generosity of many people during the PE CARES food drive, the community benefitted and we had the opportunity to celebrate at Hudsonville Lanes. Yeah, we had a whole lot of fun! 🙂
We received PE CARES t-shirts. They were donated by Hudsonville Lanes. We were one stylin’ group! When we got back to the school, students had an opportunity to sign each other’s shirts.
We also celebrated our Jet’s Pizza night pizza party at Hudsonville Lanes! Mmmm…it was SO good! 🙂

The Hudsonville community benefitted…

…and we went bowling because of your generosity!

Excitement for the opportunity to help others grew quickly as the PE teachers announced that the PE CARES Food Drive would begin. Some students bought food items using their own money. Other students collected food items from their neighbors. Families worked together to gather food from their pantries or road trip to the local grocery stores.

In the end, 738 food items were collected by the students and families from our classroom. These donations were added to all of the food items gathered by the other classrooms in our school. Altogether, 4,817 food items were donated to LOVE Inc. and made available to the Hudsonville community! 🙂

Thank you for making this food drive a HUGE success! 🙂

Check out the slideshow of our bowling bash…

As you can see, it was a LOT of fun…thanks again! 🙂

A quick look back…

.

…at our classroom party.

“Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Hey!”

Well, I don’t know about that, but we did have a lot of fun celebrating in room 304! The students did an amazing job of planning and enjoying our Christmas party! Some created colorful pages, while others played games. Everyone drank hot chocolate…and stirred up some slime!

Parents, you went above and beyond in donating what we needed to make this celebration special! You also went above and beyond in the gifts you so generously gave and the notes that you and/or your son/daughter so thoughtfully wrote. Thanks again!

Pizza Celebration!

smile clipartIt’s time to celebrate!  Tomorrow, October 27, we will celebrate being recognized twenty times for outstanding behavior with a pizza lunch.

I will provide two slices of pizza from Jet’s and Hawaiian Punch for each person.  Students are welcome to  supplement as desired.

Outstanding job, 4th Graders! 🙂
