A quick look back…

.

…at our classroom party.

“Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Hey!”

Well, I don’t know about that, but we did have a lot of fun celebrating in room 304! The students did an amazing job of planning and enjoying our Christmas party! Some created colorful pages, while others played games. Everyone drank hot chocolate…and stirred up some slime!

Parents, you went above and beyond in donating what we needed to make this celebration special! You also went above and beyond in the gifts you so generously gave and the notes that you and/or your son/daughter so thoughtfully wrote. Thanks again!

I hope you have been able to enjoy times of rest and fun with family and friends during our extended Christmas break! 🙂

The weather caused us to cancel our original school Christmas party plans, but I would still like to celebrate with the students in a small way.

I am planning to provide pizza and Hawaiian Punch on Friday, January 10.  Two pieces of pizza will be provided for each student.  Extra pizza will be available for $1.00 per slice.  Students are welcome to supplement with other food as desired.

Please email any questions.

Looking ahead…

calendar

Wow!  We have a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks! 🙂

Our “outstanding” celebration will take place this Thursday, December 19.  We gathered ideas for how this celebration would look and decided to include electronics, board games and comfy-cozy clothing.  So, please talk with your child about appropriate electronics to bring and games to play.  We’re looking forward to a fun day!

Our Christmas party is scheduled for Friday, December 20.  We will join the other 4th grade classes in the multipurpose room from 2:30-3:30.  A number of activities are being planned.  Parents, you are welcome to join us! 🙂

Finally, we are preparing for 4th grade swimming lessons at the Hudsonville High School pool.  A letter with some information went home today.  Please complete the bottom portion and return by Thursday, December 19.  More information will be coming soon!

If you have any questions about the upcoming events, please feel free to contact me.

Christmas Party Update

We are looking forward to a fun day tomorrow! 🙂   As part of our celebration, we are planning to watch the DVD, Ice Age 4:  Continental Drift.  It is rated PG, but it has received great reviews from the Dove Foundation (“We are pleased to award this film our Dove ‘Family-Approved’ Seal for all ages and encourage you to take the whole family to this wonderful picture.”).  However, if you would prefer that your child not watch this DVD, please let me know and an alternate activity will be provided.
