The Hudsonville community benefitted…

…and we went bowling because of your generosity!

Excitement for the opportunity to help others grew quickly as the PE teachers announced that the PE CARES Food Drive would begin. Some students bought food items using their own money. Other students collected food items from their neighbors. Families worked together to gather food from their pantries or road trip to the local grocery stores.

In the end, 738 food items were collected by the students and families from our classroom. These donations were added to all of the food items gathered by the other classrooms in our school. Altogether, 4,817 food items were donated to LOVE Inc. and made available to the Hudsonville community! 🙂

Thank you for making this food drive a HUGE success! 🙂

As you can see, it was a LOT of fun…thanks again! 🙂

Hudsonville PE CARES

The annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S food drive will be starting on November 6. This is a project that is organized by the district’s physical education teachers who partner with Hudsonville’s Love INC.

We are asking for your help by bringing in non-perishable food items for Love Inc. in Hudsonville.  Food items to consider are canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, rice, baked beans, black beans, kidney beans, peanut butter, tuna fish, etc. (please no ramen noodles)

The food drive will continue until Nov. 21.  We will be keeping track of how many items each class brings in for the food drive.  The class with the most items at the end of the day on Nov. 21 will win a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes and a P.E. C.A.R.E.S t-shirt.

This is a great opportunity for our students to care for their community, thanks for sharing in this service project with us at Georgetown.

The Hudsonville community will benefit…

and we’re going bowling because of your generosity!  Excitement for the opportunity to help others grew quickly as the PE teachers announced that the PE CARES Food Drive would begin on Wednesday, November 1.

Some students bought food items using their own money.  Other students collected food items from their neighbors.  Families worked together to gather food from their pantries or road trip to the local grocery stores.

In the end, 1,012 food items were collected by the students and families from our classroom.  These were added to the massive amount of food items donated by other classrooms that lined the hallway outside the gym.

Thank you for making this food drive a HUGE success! 🙂

We had a great year of giving for PE CARES!!!  GT elementary students and their families donated 3,987 items to Love Inc. in Hudsonville.  Thank you all for supporting this very worthwhile cause.  Mr. Kooikers class collected the most and will be given a PE CARES bowling t-shirt and taking a field trip to Hudsonville Lanes in the near future 🙂  Way to go!!!

Let’s join together and show how much we DARE TO CARE for our community.
