Coin War Wrap!

The battle was intense!  Momentum shifted frequently.  The coins poured into our classroom like I have never seen before.  When the scale settled and all of the coins were weighed…the sweet sound of a soothing tune announced the winner from our school office:

“Hail! to the victors valiant

Hail! to the conqu’ring heroes…

Michigan State fans put up a great fight and were gracious in the midst of the Michigan fans’ celebration.

As we discussed in our classroom, the reality is that we all win because the money collected will help purchase books for [Georgetown] classroom libraries.  It will also help readers beyond our school and community. Scholastic Book Fairs matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books to the Kids In Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.

Now, all eyes turn to East Lansing as the two teams take to the football field on Saturday! 🙂
